I'm Lisa Walker, an award-winning cosmetic tattooist based in Beach Haven on Auckland's North Shore. Lip work is what I'm known for - my lip blush won Best Lip Blush at NZPMU Auckland, and my dark lip work won Best Dark Lip Neutralisation at Australia APMAC 2024 in the open category.
Lip blush is a cosmetic tattoo that gives your lips soft, natural colour and definition. Healed properly, it looks like your lips on their best day, not like lipstick. Every treatment starts with your natural lip tone, undertone and shape, because that is what decides which pigments will heal beautifully on you.
If your natural lip tone is deeper or cooler, dark lip neutralisation shifts the hue gradually over more than one session, working with your melanin rather than against it. This is specialised work and it is the area I am most passionate about.

Whether you're after a sheer wash of colour or a fuller lipstick effect, this service is fully customised to suit your style, undertones, and goals. Best for lips with even tone.

A specialised colour-shifting tattoo process designed for melanin-rich or cool-toned lips. Using warm-based pigments, we gradually shift the existing hue while working in harmony with your natural undertones and melanin depth.
This is not about covering or correcting — it’s about honouring your canvas and enhancing your lips through a layered, respectful approach. Suitable for lips with no previous tattoo work.
Note: Most clients will require additional sessions for optimal results. This is a progressive journey, not a one-and-done treatment.
Due to the nature of lip neutralisation the pre consultation will allow for realistic goals to be set and a treatment pathway will be explained.

Lip Tattoo Touch-Up (6 Weeks to 24 Months) EXISTING CLIENTS
This session is for returning lip tattoo clients (Lip Blush or Dark Lip Neutralisation) needing a follow-up or colour boost.
Select your timing at checkout:
6–8 Weeks (Perfecting Session): $300
12–14 Weeks (Neutralisation Follow-Up): $300
12–24 Months (Colour Boost): $450
We assess your healed pigment and build on the existing base for longer-lasting results. After 24 months, a new first session may be required.

This consultation is designed for clients who want clarity before committing to cosmetic tattooing.
During your appointment, we will discuss your goals, preferences, and concerns, then assess what is realistically achievable for you based on your skin type, lifestyle, natural features, and any existing tattoo work.

Lip Blush Questions, Answered
Does lip blush hurt?
Most clients describe it as discomfort rather than pain. A numbing product is used during your appointment, and many clients are surprised how manageable it is.
How long does lip blush last?
Typically two to five years depending on your skin, lifestyle and sun exposure. A colour boost every one to two years keeps it looking fresh.
How much does lip blush cost in Auckland?
My signature lip blush first session is $700, with follow-up and colour boost pricing listed above. The first session includes colour mapping and design.
Can I have lip blush if I have darker lips?
Yes, and this is my specialty. Deeper or cooler natural lip tones need dark lip neutralisation, a gradual hue-shifting process across multiple sessions. Never let anyone put standard lip blush pigments over an unassessed dark lip.
What is healing like?
Lips look brighter and feel tender for the first few days, then flake lightly as they heal. The colour softens considerably, with your true healed result showing at around six weeks. Full prep and aftercare guidance is provided.
